Ammonia is the most energy-efficient and green refrigerant available. It’s the only refrigerant with both an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero, and Global Warming Potential (GWP) of zero. In many cases, it saves you money in the long run, particularly in industrial spaces with large equipment. The ammonia absorbs large amounts of heat as it evaporates, which makes it more efficient. One of the drawbacks of using an ammonia system is that there’s a lack of experienced and qualified ammonia engineers in the industry. Most engineers are familiar with the CO2 systems that dominate the supermarkets. But there are very few competent ammonia engineers about.
You don’t have to worry about that when you work with us. Our engineers have decades of experience in ammonia systems, and one of our consultants has a PhD in Mechatronics. We have some of the most knowledgeable and competent ammonia engineers in the UK.

The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations 2002 require us to review all potential risks caused by ammonia, and mitigate against them.
We make sure all our systems are safe and controlled, and you’ll see this reflected in our careful design process. All of our systems are designed to include emergency shutdown, alarming, monitoring, emergency showers, leak detection, and fan extraction, among other safety measures.
